Creating clever habits to become more productive| MaXXYou

Yvonne Looije founder of MaXXYou seen a lot over the years when working in the (Financial) services industry as a professional. As such she addresses in her Blog clever habits you might want to consider around the following:

  • Communication
  • Self-organization
  • Punctuality
  • Optimism and a positive mindset

Communication

As a mentor and coach Yvonne helps you to make more out of your communication. Habits around how you respond to emails, text messages and phone calls from your colleagues and clients alike. So that messaging is clear and waiting time low. The latter does not mean you have to drop what you are doing and answer the email right this second, it is better to allocate time during your workday to answer all outstanding communication.

Furthermore, make sure to not listen to respond but listen to understand. Really listen to what someone has to say and postpone your response. Train yourself postponing your response, and instead of responding encourage the other person with little non-verbal cues. This will not only allow for more information to reach you, but it will also make the person who’s talking feel heard.

Self-organization

Start and end your day organizing your stuff and thoughts. to do just that, you can best collect your thoughts around what you exactly want to achieve first... This is time well spent in terms of the time you lose being disorganized. Clutter, lacking a good planning and being unprepared will eat away your time and the time of your co-workers.

Punctuality

Being on time at every meeting for the rest of your life might not be possible. On the other hand, making punctuality a habit will help you say “no” to meetings that are back-to-back in your calendar. It will help you to make a full-stop just because you want to be on time for the next meeting. It will show dedication, respect and responsibility, qualities you will be respected for.

Optimism and a positive mindset

Some people are pessimistic as their default state of being. They complain about just anything. This influences the people around them, it influences the outcome of things, negativity perpetuates negativity. In the same way positivity perpetuates positivity.

Yvonne Looije helps professionals get into the open and positive mindset, finding a way in creating and being successful in these habits - all to your benefit, every day.
