Your career path is a series of stepping stones. Over time, they take you where you want to go in terms of work.

These days, work and life often overlap and the lines between work, workplaces, and workers themselves are getting blurrier all the time. It’s because of the today’s technology, connected world economies (globalization) and a culture focused on work. And today, people feel pressure to perform and produce more than ever. The lines between work, workplaces, and workers themselves are getting blurrier all the time. (More workplace trends).

Your Choices, Your Work, Your Life
Whether you are career planning, changing your job, upgrading your skills or trying to work with personal needs, in my view, to reflect on the below will bring you closer to your life vision:

  • Imagine your lifestyle: Some people love blending work into their lives. They like the flexibility and don’t mind when these mix. Other people would rather leave work at work. When they’re off, they want to be completely off. What about you?
  • Consider the trade-offs: Remember that in your career, to get one thing, you may need to give up another. For example, you may picture yourself making a high salary in a profession, but many professionals:
    • May work long days and/or may have to work on weekends;
    • May not get paid for overtime;
    • May not have as much time as they’d like for exercise or hobbies.
  • Make your own decision: The key is to know what would make you happiest. Here are some things to think about when you’re trying to picture a career path;
    working hours, workplace setting and travel.

Imagine your ideal future. Your hopes and dreams are much more than wishful thinking. They’re the vision you have of yourself in your future. Your dreams are a key step in exploring who you are, what you want, and how you get there. Start your career planning with your dreams.

Once you’ve done that, I’m here to support you on the journey to get where you wanna go!
